Ian grew up in Naperville, Illinois, and went on to earn his BA in History from the University of Florida, summa cum laude, while also studying abroad in Mexico and becoming a certified SCUBA Divemaster.

In 2007, he earned his law degree from Georgetown University, graduating in the top 4% of his class, and satisfying the requirements of his school’s pro bono pledge program. Continuing his commitment to public service, he served as a uniformed attorney in the United States Air Force Judge Advocate General’s Corps from 2007-2014.

Following his return to Naperville, he joined Nagle & Obarski in 2015, where he practiced as a partner handling business representation.

Ian was elected to the Naperville City Council in 2021, and has focused on finding housing for community members with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as the expansion of the Naperville Riverwalk. Previously he chaired the 1,100-member Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce, successfully guiding it through its greatest period of financial challenge, during the early stages of the pandemic in 2020.

A passionate proponent of innovation in the legal field, Ian aims to improve transparency and accessibility between firms and their clients, through ongoing concierge services. Most of all, Ian strives to contribute to society by providing leadership, support and guidance.
